Mary Esty was one of the women tried and executed in the Salem Witch Trials.
In the Timeless Universe[]
Mary Esty had been accused of choking her neighbor's hogs to death as sacrifice to the devil. This accusation was told to the town in the tavern by John Hathorne. He used the evidence of marks found on her hands after the death of the hogs. This was followed by Abiah Franklin coming to her defense, claiming that Mary's neighbor was a drunk and had died of starvation, not sacrifice.
Mary is later saved by Lucy Preston, Garcia Flynn and Rufus Carlin like all those who were intended to hang for their accusations of witchcraft. They are likely taken to New Hampshire of a year as Lucy instructed Abiah to do, and likely return to Salem after this.
